Key Responsibilities:
• Chartering & Freight Negotiations:
a. Assist in the chartering process for the transportation of bulk liquid chemicals, including the identification and selection of vessels.
b. Negotiate freight rates and contracts of affreightment in line with the company's shipping strategy and market conditions.
c. Handle charter parties and freight contracts, ensuring all terms are compliant with legal, operational, and safety standards.
• Logistics & Operations Oversight:
a. Coordinate with internal teams (such as trading, logistics, and operations) to ensure seamless execution of voyages and mitigate operational risks.
b. Supervise and track vessels' performance during voyages, ensuring adherence to schedules, safety standards, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Market Intelligence & Reporting:
a. Monitor and analyze the shipping market trends and freight rates for chemicals and ensure the company remains competitive.
b. Provide regular updates and reports on market conditions, fleet performance, and shipping costs.
• Risk & Compliance Management:
a. Ensure full compliance with international maritime laws, regulations, and environmental standards.
• Relationship Management:
a. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vessel owners, port agents, and other key stakeholders in the shipping industry.
b. Collaborate with the wider trading, commercial, and finance teams to enhance shipping efficiency and profitability.
