Sales Manager Job Description (Japan Market)
Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Sales Manager to pioneer the market entry and expansion of our Japanese home appliance brand. The ideal candidate will possess established relationships within Japan's retail industry and a demonstrated passion for building emerging brands from the ground up. This role requires a strategic, entrepreneurial professional capable of designing and executing sales strategies that drive channel development and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead business development and management across the national market, formulating and implementing sales and marketing strategies to achieve ambitious growth targets.
2. Proactively identify, establish, and nurture relationships with key retail customers, distributors, and channel agents, leveraging existing networks to accelerate market penetration.
3. Be responsible for the end-to-end management of channel partners, including daily maintenance, relationship management, and the planning and execution of joint marketing activities.
4. Work closely with the country manager and regional marketing team to manage market budgets and resource allocation, ensuring optimal investment in business development initiatives.
5. Continuously monitor local market dynamics and competitor activities, developing agile response strategies to capture market opportunities.
6. Drive negotiations and secure partnerships with major retail accounts, ensuring successful product listing and prominent in-store or online presence.

Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or higher.
2. A minimum of 5 years of offline sales, business development, or procurement experience within the Japanese home appliance, consumer electronics, or smart hardware sectors.
3. Extensive, established network and relationships with key retailers, distributors, or channel partners in Japan is a critical requirement.
4. A proven track record of successfully launching and growing emerging or new-to-market brands, demonstrating the ability to overcome market entry barriers.
5. Strong commercial acumen and strategic planning abilities, capable of formulating and executing effective market entry and channel development strategies.
6. Highly results-driven with strong self-motivation and a proven ability to thrive in a challenging, start-up-like environment.
7. Professional proficiency in English and Japanese is required. Proficiency in Mandarin is a strong plus.
8. Experience working with or for international brands, particularly in a market-entry context, is highly preferred.
9. Strong entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and the passion to build a business from the ground up, performing well under pressure.
