Quality Engineer

1. BASIC FUNCTION: Perform all aspects of quality management services that required vast experiences and deep technical knowledge and management skills, either directly or by means of coordinating, directing and monitoring the activities of external inspectors, as well as the activities of internal engineers. Initiates or conducts special studies for improving operation; provides specialized technical service in recognized engineering fields; acts as consultant on complex engineering problems; coordinates or directs work of other engineers. 2. SCOPE: Report to Unit Head level. Work under general direction, and mentor/train engineers for more advanced technical skills. Act coverage of Unit Head. This position differs from the professional Engineer II in that the incumbent of this position is considered an expert in one or more recognized engineering fields and is required to undertake or coordinate Complex engineering work. 3. PRINCIPAL CONTACTS: Internal: Unit Heads to ascertain problems, define scope of projects, develop solutions, and evaluate alternatives. Buyers, Expediters as required discussing status of Quality management, queries, etc. CSD/RSA/SAIR as required discussing technical issues and commenting on specs/standards External: Manufacturers as required to coordinate own inspection visits, etc. Coordinators of contract Inspection Agencies as required discussing operational items, concerns, information gathering. Saudi Aramco Inspection Representatives as required, to discuss operations, recommendations, concerns. 4. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Supervise the inspection activities of material purchased by Saudi Aramco, manufactured within the area of responsibility. Ensure purchase order compliance by reviewing material and test certificates. Supervise/Monitor and conduct the coordination and direction of QM, QA, QC services provided by contract Inspection Agencies and their inspectors. Lead to perform review of new or revised Saudi Aramco standards in one's field of expertise and recommend changes by providing consultation. Train/develop engineers to achieve advanced engineering skills. Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by Unit Head. Act Unit Head coverage Reviews work of engineers directed. Checks that reports are written according to established methods of good report presentation. Takes recommendations for further study or report changes. Approves reports for transmittal to supervisor. Develop scope and description of technology items, and leads the implementation and operation of developed solutions in the field

5. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree (B.S) in Engineering or equivalent with 10 years' technical related inspection/quality management experience. Such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as an expert in his field. Command excellent communication skills; comprehend and communicate accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job. Must have a thorough knowledge inspection practices including scientific and calculation methods and design details. Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette. Customer focused with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Should possess acceptable advanced knowledge of related Saudi Aramco standards. Has working knowledge of Saudi Aramco Standards and Specifications to review and provides consultation to proponent and project representatives related to their interpretation/ application of the standards in his area of expertise.
