BIOINFO Agentic Engineer

Position Overview We are seeking talented AI Engineers to join Data Science team working on cutting-edge Agentic AI solutions for cancer research and biometrics. You will work alongside data integration engineers and report to the Head of Data Science, building intelligent systems that automate and enhance scientific research workflows in genomics, computational pathology, and clinical trials. Main Duties and Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy Agentic AI systems to solve complex scientific research problems Build and maintain AI agents for genomics analysis, computational pathology, and clinical trial workflows Automate data analysis pipelines using AI agents and LLM-driven tools Integrate Agentic AI solutions with existing data infrastructure and APIs Collaborate with data integration engineers to ensure seamless data flow Implement RAG systems and vector databases for knowledge retrieval Stay current with emerging AI technologies and apply them to cancer research use cases Document technical solutions and contribute to best practices Senior Level: Mentor junior engineers and lead technical design decisions Requirements by Level Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or related field Experience Junior Level: 1-3 years of experience in software engineering, data science, machine learning, or bioinformatics Senior Level: 5+ years of experience with proven track record in deploying AI/ML systems to production

Essential Technical Skills All Levels: Hands-on experience with Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, Pydantic-AI, CrewAI, or similar) Strong Python programming skills Experience with LLMs and prompt engineering Proficiency with Unix/Linux environments Experience with REST APIs and web services Understanding of SQL databases and data modeling Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Knowledge of software development best practices (version control, testing, CI/CD) Senior Level Additional Requirements: Proven experience deploying and maintaining Agentic AI systems in production Experience designing system architectures and making technical decisions Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers Desirable Skills Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript Knowledge of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, etc.) Understanding of fine-tuning and model optimization techniques Experience with compiled languages (C, Java, Go, Rust) Background in bioinformatics, genomics, or computational biology Experience with medical imaging or computational pathology Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance (HIPAA, GDPR) Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving AI landscape Attention to detail and commitment to code quality Passion for applying AI to advance cancer research and patient outcomes
